When the flow of blood stops or gets hindered severely by the deposit of fat and cholesterol in the blood vessels, plaques are formed in coronary arteries which narrows the diameter causing reduced blood flow to heart resulting in heart attack

Tips for heart attack prevention
Follow healthy diet
Go for healthy food to prevent cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes. Avoid high calorie fatty and sugary food; eat more fruits, vegetables and high fibre containing foods. Never skip breakfast.

Quit smoking
Smoking makes you inhale more carbon monoxide than oxygen, carbon monoxides poisons the RBC and destroys it resulting in hypoxia (insufficient oxygen supply to heart)

Reduce your stress
Stress is a major risk factor for a cardiac event as it can produce negative lipid metabolism and can cause chronic arthrosclerosis (reduced flow of blood to heart) practice meditation, yoga pranayama and breathing exercise

Exercise regularly
Regular exercising would improve metabolism and burn your fats, reducing the chances of atherosclerosis and heart attacks

Reduce your sugar
Diabetes can cause heart disease and heart failure (Diabetic cardiomyopathy). Avoid fatty or sugary food, Follow strict dietary regime with low fat and low carbohydrate food and food rich on carbohydrate and fibres

Reduce your hypertension
Reduce your salt intake to manage your Blood pressure; High blood pressure can damage your heart muscles

Diet and regimen
Try to include lots of herbs, fruits, healthy spices like cinnamon, turmeric, fenugreek, ginger, garlic etc. Boost your intake of Omega -3 Fatty acids, found in foods like salmon, mackerel flaxseeds, walnuts, almonds and canola oil.
